Len Sherr - Oregon CCB Dispute Mediation Class - Sunday 8 - 10 AM
Len got his start in the construction industry after college by helping a friend who was rehabbing homes that were built during the early 1900’s. Having enjoyed the process and the learning experience Len spent the next ten years working in all phases of construction either as an employee or a contractor.
When one client asked him to inspect a small commercial building he intended to purchase during 1979 this opened up a whole new possibility, but private inspections at that time on the west coast were not yet a common occurrence and very little information was available on the practice.
It wasn’t until1983, after consuming all available information on the practice, that Len felt confident enough to start doing whole house home inspections full time. He continued doing home inspections for the next 14 years, which included doing inspections for a home warranty company, the NAHB and some government agencies, until an advertisement from the Oregon Builders Board (now the Construction Contractors Board) seeking an investigator/mediator caught his attention.
He was hired by the CCB and spent the next 21 years trying to resolve construction disputes between homeowners and contractors and home purchasers and home inspectors.
This work also requires occasional court appearances as an expert witness in construction disputes.
The goal of this class is to help you avoid getting involved in the legal system or having a CCB complaint filed against you.
