HOTLINE HISTORY - The A.I.I. Inspector's Hotline is an e-mail based notification list that allows A.I.I. members to be able to scream for help and help actually responds. The Hotline has been in operation since 1997 and has brought help to thousands of different inspection scenarios. The idea is simple. When you encounter an item that you haven't seen before you can go online and e-mail the membership asking them for guidance. This is a great resource at 9 o'clock at night when you are trying to complete a report and you aren't sure if the item that you are reporting is a reportable condition or not.
HOTLINE'S CHANGE OF PURPOSE - The focus of the Hotline is now changing with the implementation of the A.I.I. Inspector's "Knowledge Base" Forum. The Hotline will become the 911 line asking the inspectors to check out what you have just spent time posting to the Knowledge Base. Since the membership has to take time to visit the forum, the Hotline will be used to give them an urgent heads up plea for help. This process will eliminate the huge photo downloads that members were being subjected to with the Hotline.
